Although my heart aches at the thought of Gene leaving this earth, I rejoice with him knowing he is now in heaven. I met Gene and Winkie when I was 9 years old when we moved to Garden valley. I instantly gained a new set of grandparents …I remember fond memories of working in the garden with them when they came in on weekends. Gene always paid us in change and then would take my sister and I to town to buy a ice cream with our wages. We were always right beside him no matter what project or toy he was tinkering with. Gene Siebert is one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I know I am a better person because of him.
I have known Gene since I was a teenager. Gene’s day trips from Waco to our home were such blessings for my family. Gene was a sweet, gentle man who love to bless others and he will be missed.
I have not seen Gene in years as I am a missionary living in Mozambique, Africa, but Gene has always encouraged me in all I choose to do in my life.
A few months ago I called Gene and we talked for about 15 minutes and it was a blessing for us both.
I am unable to be there
but my thoughts and prayers
will be with all the family
I enjoyed all the QSO’s
with General, Mike and Bill
and others through the years.

Dear Mr.Siebert (honeybun) you were such a wonderful beautiful person I already miss your "oh boy" and your smile but I know you are in a better place God Bless You Love Tasha
To Mike, Shelley, and families we send out deepest symphany. What a loss we feel with the passing of this great friend. Gene was more like family to us than a friend from our first meeting in the early 80’s and we are so thankful God allowed them to pass through our lives, and what a difference they made. We will miss them greatly. Ray, Dorothy, Angie, Aimee, and Amber
Mr. Siebert was truly a great man. I loved talking to him and listening to all of his stories and jokes he would tell us when he visited. You will be truly missed but we know that you are in a better place now with Irene. We’ll never forget you.
