Mrs. Gerald D. Brewer, 86, of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 3rd at an area care center.

Funeral services: 10AM Wednesday, May 7th at Christian Life Church in Robinson with Rev. Mike Simons and Rev. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Tuesday, May 6th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com/obituaries.

Gerald was born March 23, 1928 in Post, TX to Chester and Mattie (Brackney) Stephens and moved to Waco at an early age. She married Clarence B. Brewer on May 25, 1946 in Marlin. She had a long work history that included over 25 years in the grocery business, and then worked as a seamstress for her brother’s upholstery and drapery business. She used her many talents to help others, including making wedding dresses and cakes. She was a faithful member of Christian Life Church (First Pentecostal Church) in Robinson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, servant , and caregiver. She was a selfless individual who put others needs before hers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence B. Brewer; son Clarence “Bo” Brewer; grandson, Randy Booth; brothers, Coy Stephens, Bud Stephens, Roy Stephens, Darrell Stephens, and W.C. Stephens; and sister, Eva Allen.

Survivors include her children, Janie Friberg and David McRae of Mexia, Nancy Starks and husband David of Red Oak, Donna Brewer of Mesa, AZ, and Coy Brewer and wife Mary of Woodway; daughter-in-law, Shannon Brewer of Waco; 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Custer of Hewitt, and Oma Fay Carrigan of Waco; brothers, Ronnie Stephens and wife Deborah of Robinson, and Alvis Stephens of McGregor.

Pallbearers will be David Starks, Jr., Chad Starks, Lance Brewer, Ricky Booth, John Henderson, Nick Green, Brandon Booth, and Robert Chollett.

Special thanks to Wesley Woods, Gentiva Hospice, and all who cared for her.
