Gladys (Carter) Woodard

Gladys Lanetta Woodard, 92, of Rowlett, TX went peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 8th.

Funeral services: 1 PM Monday, September 14, 2015 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew, Gene Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff.

Gladys was born in McLennan County, January 14, 1923 to Lula (Smith and James Carter. She attended Elm Mott and LaVega schools, graduating in 1941. During WWII, she was a riveter for an airplane manufacturer in the Dallas area. Gladys then went to work in the banking industry in Dallas, TX and Oakland, CA until her retirement. She was a current member of the First Baptist Rockwall Church. Throughout her life, she was an active member of her church and enjoyed fellowship with other church members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Steve Rodrick and Bill Woodard; brothers, Vernon, Leslie, James, Chester, and Tom Carter; and sisters, Sadie Hill and Thelma Itson.

She is survived by extended family members who treasure their memories of her.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thanks to the nursing staff at Villiago of Carrollton and her hospice nurses.
