George and Sherry–I’m so sorry about your sweet Dad. Having known you, George, for most of my life, your Dad has left a fine legacy behind–YOU. Till you two meet again, live it to the fullest. Thinking of you, Ann
This experience has been one of the most difficult but yet rewarding in all the same breath. From the time I first entered the O’Connor home, they were pleasent, and made me feel comfortable. They made me feel like family and I never lost or doubted that feeling not once while I was there. Mrs Kelly, Mr. Jack, Ms. Kathleen, Ms. Laretta, and Ms. Linda. From the bottom of my heart I thank you guys for everything. I know you all may feel like I should be thanked, but I was only doing what I was set out to do and what God asked of me. Mr. O’Connor was THE BEST person I have EVER worked for, and Im pleased that I was there for his final moment. That Saturday morning when I came, I rubbed his arm and asked him "if he remembered me Antwynette"? and he looked at me and smiled and said "Yep I sure do, I sure do. That smile and those 7 words will forever stay with me. Mrs. Kelly, Mr. George and Ms. Kathleen your perents did a very good job with you guys. Again thank you for allowing me in your home and to be by your fathers side during his last moments, it was truly an honor. Please keep intouch. Best wishes, Antwynette
Oh Kellie, Meggan, and Hayley, My arms are around you and I know God will rock you. My precious father went to heaven last week and he will be welcoming yours. The gifts God gave us when we were blessed to be born to men who leave legacies like our dads. Love you all, Debi

George, Kelly, and Kathleen,
I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad. He’s a wonderful man, and I know how much he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
George, Kelly, and Kathleen: Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your loss. We are grateful for the wonderful gratitude that Glidden has always shared in opening his home to us. What a wonderful and intelligent father you had to learn from!
Glidden was a wonderful man. He was generous, kind gentle and sincere. I believe there is great meaning in his passing on Palm Sunday. We celebrate Easter to acknowledge the promise of eternal life. We truly believe that Glidden is free of pain and is reunited with the love of his life and his true companion Nancy. They have been blessed with eternal life as promised by our Lord Jesus Christ. We are certain that Nancy was there to meet him at the gates of Heaven.
We have been friends for over 30 years. My husband and I loved Glidden very much and we always enjoyed our visits whether it be in Waco, on the coast at our condo or Fredericksburg. We talked about everything.
My husband reminded me of a gospel song that Glidden loved so much.
"O, they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise,
O, they tell me of an uncloudy day."
Our life will never be the same now that Glidden is gone, however, that he has moved beyond the realm of pain and suffering we are grateful. We grieve now but overtime we can cherish his memory more.
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6 – 7
George and family, dear friend, please know that I am thinking of you and your family. What an incredible man your father was – the photo of his face shows kindness, compassion, wisdom and joy. It’s heartbreaking that we are losing so many now of "the greatest generation" and your father most certainly belongs to that group. He is "home" now, where he can keep his eyes and heart on each of you, knowing he has raised a wonderful son and family. My father also passed away during Easter – there’s a special message in there, somehow – so be comforted, and remembers only the best.
My heart and thoughts are with the family. Glidden was such a kind, friendly person and I will always be grateful that he opened his home and offered his frienship to me.
George, Kelly and Kathleen, your dad was a wonderful man. He was such a dear friend to us. We had great times with him and will miss his quick wit and laugh. You are all in our hearts during this difficult time.
