She was born on September 9, 1946 to Ira Pass and Catherine Gann Pass in Dallas, Texas. She was a graduate of South Oak Cliff High School. She attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas and was nominated as Freshman class beauty. There, she met Ted Lewis, who was a senior, and they were married August 27, 1966 in Brownwood. She and Ted were married nearly 50 years and counseled dozens of couples through Legacy Family Ministries, preparing them for a lifelong Christ-centered marriage. They had two sons, Timothy and Gregory. The family lived in Burleson for about 20 years until Ted and Gloria moved to Waco in 1994. She was a resident of StoneyBrook in Hewitt for the past three years.
Gloria was a wife and homemaker but worked for many years in public schools as an aide in many different roles including art, P.E., library, resource director and wherever else she was needed. She was an active member of Highland Baptist Church. She and Ted were also members at First Baptist Church Woodway for a time. Through the years, she was active in many different ministries including Sunday School, hosting life groups, singing in the choir, women’s ministry and hospitality ministry among many others. After Ted died, her Grief Group became a source of support and encouragement to her. Gloria was a godly, joyful, kind and generous woman who blessed all who came in contact with her. She was known as a strong woman of prayer.
She is survived by her son, Timothy and wife, Patti, of Pennsville, NJ; son, Greg and wife, Jill of Goldthwaite, TX; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Madison, Chris, Justus, Darius, Terrance, Chance and Joey. She was very proud of her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. In addition, Mark Masterson, whom she considers another son, and his wife, Dayna, who serve as missionaries in North Africa, and their children, Kenza, Sophia and Lukas. She has many other family and friends who will deeply miss her.

I will miss her,, beautiful smile and personality.
I loved Gloria so much. We talked a lot when we worked
at South Bosque Elem. She loved the Lord. She even prayed with me.
She was such a sweet and compassionate lady.
She will truely be missed.
Prayers for her family.
I am sad but I know she is with the Lord now.
I loved Gloria in life and treasured her as a constant witness for the Lord even as she spent her last days among the people who needed her quiet smile and beautiful blue eyes that lit up at the sound of Jesus’ name.
As a young man living in Burleson TX, and a member of Crestmont Baptist Church, I enjoyed the fellowship and joy shared by both Ted and Gloria. Funny smart and Godly; what a winning combination for a wife, mother, and friend.
To Gregory and family and Timothy and family,
You have my sincere condolences for the passing of your dear mother. She was always the dimming face who greeted us all, no matter the occasion. We will
all miss her cheerfulness and kind demeanor!
My best regards to you all.
I will see you at her memorial service.
Love, Royce
Brian & I were members of Ted & Gloria’s life group. Gloria loved Jesus & was always available to help. They even came to the hospital to pray over me before I had surgery!
Even though Gloria didn’t remember me, she knew Jesus & was always ready to pray when asked. Gloria was a living example of what it looked like to walk with Jesus.
Gloria was a part of our Thursday morning breakfast group. She was such a caring, sweet, loving Jesus breakfast friend. What a joy it was to be with her on Thursday mornings to share our joys and sorrows.. She has been missed these last few year. Knowing that she is now singing and dancing with Jesus is a blessing. I was so thankful to see the wonderful service online.
Wth love,
Jane Owens
