Gloria Jean Torres, 77, of Waco, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Visitation: Friday, November 4, at 5-8 PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Service: Saturday, November 5, at 10 AM at Lake Shore Funeral Home
a burial will be held at a later date.

Gloria was born January 27, 1945, in Waco, to Gonzalo G. and Elvira Gonzalez. She married the love of her life, Joe Torres, on July 14, 1962. Gloria and Joe were married for 60 years and were blessed with two daughters, two sons-in-laws, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and many wonderful memories together. She was a longtime member of Primera Iglesia Bautista of Waco where she was involved in numerous church activities and served alongside her church family in service to the Lord. She worked many years in retail and ultimately retired from Providence Hospital after 23 years as a pharmacy tech. She enjoyed watching baseball, football, and horse racing, solving sudoku puzzles, playing bingo, and spending time with her family!

Gloria is survived by her husband, Joe Ray Torres; daughter, Deborah Perez and husband, Robert; daughter, Veronica Burke and husband, Dallas; grandchildren, Jennifer Rodwell, Christopher Torres and wife, Melissa, Jessica Morales, Madison Burke, Emily Burke, Daniel Perez and Nate Perez; great grandchildren, Mikayla Rodwell, Kharma Rodwell and Jordan Torres; great-great grandson Anikio Rodwell; sisters, Dolores Lemke and Yolanda Gonzales; brothers, Ralph Gonzalez and Richard Gonzalez and wife Sharon; four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gloria was a kind, loving, intelligent, strong and God-fearing woman who was a devoted wife and mother. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. The family would like to thank her church family for their love, support and prayers; caregivers, Tawana of Compassus Hospice of Waco; and Jody and Isaac of Bluebonnet Health Services of Waco for their dedicated and gentle care.
