Hazel Hamlin, 74, of Lacy Lakeview, left us on Saturday, January 12, 2013 to be with the Lord. Graveside services will be 3PM Wednesday, January 16th at Driver Cemetery, near Teague. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, January 15th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Hazel was born in Walters, Oklahoma on Nov. 22, 1938. After graduating from Cameron Agricultural College, Hazel moved to Waco where she devoted her life to raising her family and serving her country by working for the Veteran

I had the privilege of working with Hazel for many, many years at the VA medical center. While she was quiet, shy, she was the kindest, most friendly, caring person with whom I associated. Hazel was dependable, competent and an asset to our Psychology service. I’m sorry she is gone from us, but take solace that she rests with God. I miss you Hazel.
