Helen Mary (Marek) Smith, age 91, of Waco, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Helen was born to Frank and Mary (Franta) Marek in Abbott, TX on February 9, 1930.

She was an owner/operator of the Exxon Service Station located at 7320 Bosque Blvd. in Waco for 23 years.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waco.

Helen was preceded in death by parents; husbands, Charles Connally Smith, and Edward W. Cepak; and daughter, Dee Whitaker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Rodney E. Cepak of Austin; daughter, Carolyn Luedke and husband Gary of Mt. Calm; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin Marek and wife Rosalie of Lacy Lakeview; and Frankie Marek of West; sisters, Shirley Willenborg and husband Jackie of Little Elm; and Mary Ann Hutyra of West.

  4. It is of great sorrow to learn of Helen’s passing. She was my neighbor and closest friend for many years. We enjoyed exchanging thoughts, the many walks around the neighborhood, bike rides, and trips with her and Chuck in our RVs. I will certainly miss her humor and kindness. She was the sweetest lady I have every known and was a friend to everyone she met. Condolences to the family, may she rest in peace!

    Helen . She was so beautiful and the most caring and loving to anyone she met . Loved all the great fun times we shared at our home , playing 42, talking about anything & everything .
