Hollin Gene Austin, 82,  passed away after a short illness at Providence Hospital on Sunday, June 30, 2024 surrounded by his loving wife, children and family.
Memorial Service:  11AM, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco, TX  76708
Hollin was born on February 3, 1942.  He was the 4th child of Jack and Lena Austin.
He attended Waco High School.  He went to work at Central Texas Iron Works  in November of 1962 and he retired from CTIW in September of 2019 after 57 years of service.
Hollin met his wife Delane 62 years ago back in 1958 and they were married in April of 1962.
Hollin was an avid fisherman and a Nascar fan.  He loved going to Winstar Casino with his wife, children, sister Lillie and various family members.  He was a jokester and lived life to the fullest.  He will be missed by many people.
Hollin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and one grandson.
Hollin is survived by his wife Delane Austin, four children Sharon Rumker (Paul), Laura Perez (Jaime), Jack Austin (Debra) and Harlan Austin, sisters Lillie Motacek and Shirley Bone, and brother Jack Austin, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as extended family members.
In lieu of flowers the family would like for you to make a donation to Ascension Providence Hospice in his memory.
