Funeral Service: 3pm Friday, May 17 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Howard officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home’s reception center.
Isaiah was born January 23, 2003 in Waco to proud parents, Lisa Marie Garcia-Vazquez and Michael Jeffrey Swindall, at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital.
Isaiah, more commonly known as Zaya, Pedro, Paisa, Fatboy or Mi niño was known for his big heart, his genuine love and his big hugs. Family, Food and Football was his love language and his favorite pastime. Isaiah was a hard-core Dallas Cowboys fan and Texas Longhorn fan, and loved watching his cousins Trent and Torii play football and brothers Brandon and Braxton play soccer.
Isaiah was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church and was baptized February 15, 2015 at the age of 12. He enjoyed serving at his church with a ministry of feeding the homeless, he helped with food distribution, Sunday School and participated in the Youth Program.
Isaiah graduated from Connally High School in 2021 and pursued secondary education at Texas State Technical College for Culinary Arts. While at TSTC he began building meaningful friendships with his roommates, they enjoyed recording lyrics, going to eat, riding around town, and visiting each other’s families. He graduated from TSTC in May 2023, but quickly decided he enjoyed eating the food more than cooking the food. He obtained a job in production at Goodwill Industries and was awaiting to move into his apartment.
Over the years Isaiah enjoyed intimate family time playing catch outside, watching movies, boat rides on Lake Waco, family vacations, trying new restaurants and playing his video games. He was a phenomenal son, grandson, cousin, big brother, nephew, and friend. He will never be forgotten and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Isaiah was preceded in death by his dad, Michael Jeffrey Swindall; uncles, Jose Ricardo Garcia (JR), Kenneth Ray Swindall, and Francisco Carlos (Charlie) Garcia; grandma, Guadalupe Morales-Garcia (Lupe); great grandparents, Florence Garcia, Elias DeLeon Garcia, Opal Lee Swindal, and Blanton (Skeeter) Swindall.
Isaiah leaves to cherish his memory by his mother and step-dad, Lisa M Garcia-Vazquez and Alberto Vazquez; step-mom, Charity Chapman; brothers, Brandon Jacob Zuniga and Braxton Kye Swindall; step-sisters, Alyssa, Tiresa and Juli, Michael B.; grandparents “Paw Paw” and “Gigi” Mike and Monica Swindall, and Ricardo and Teresa Garcia; aunts and uncles, April “Sissy” and Terry “Sweetpea” Pullen (Sweetpea), David and Katie Swindall, Kenny and Valerie Swindall, and Geovanni Daniel Garcia; cousins, Trent Pullen, David Jr. “DJ”, Zoey, Joey, Jayce, and Jayden Swindall, Tyler and Torii Pullen; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and close friends whose lives he has touched with his big smile and warm hugs.
The family is grateful for everyone that has called, texted, cooked, prayed and visited. May the Lord Bless you ALL!
