Jack Richard Hackett, 89, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services: 11:00AM, Saturday, July 16th at Rylie Church of Christ near Balch Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial: Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Mesquite.
Jack Richard Hackett was born on a snow-covered Christmas Day, December 25, 1926 in Dallas, TX to Orin & Lillian Hackett. Jack graduated early from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas to enlist in the Navy, joining his brothers in service to his country. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Dallas, started working for the U.S. Postal Service, and met the love of his life–Jo Ann Hampton. Married on May 9, 1952, Jack and Jan had three children; Jacquelyn, Joni and Jonathan. He was a Charter Member/Elder of the Rylie Church of Christ, servant to his church family, neighbors and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann Hampton Hackett; parents Orin E. & Lillian Laura Hackett; brothers Orin L. & M.L. “Bud” Hackett.
Mr. Hackett is survived by his sister-in-law Odena Hackett; children Jacquelyn & Roland Diaz, Joni & Sam Warren and Jonathan & Renee Hackett; grandchildren Janise & Matthew Bishop, Jessica & Matt Wharton, Joel & Kimberly Warren, JoAnna & Hans Rasschaert, Roland Diaz, Heather Hackett, Jacquelyn Diaz, Jamie Warren, Jacob Hackett and Jillian Hackett; great-grandchildren Carter, Owen, Emma & Avery Bishop and Kate & Jane Wharton; numerous nieces, nephews and adopted family.

Jackie, Joni and Jonathan our hearts were saddened upon hearing of the passing of your dad and our friend Jack Hackett. Our lives were enriched by knowing him, your mom and entire family.
