Jacquelyn Yvonne Waits, 56, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
Funeral Service: 11AM Thursday, August 26 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery
Visitation: 6 to 8PM Wednesday, August 25 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jeffie and Sallie Snell, Willie and Myrtle Moore, and John and Elizabeth Tucker; five uncles; three aunts; special cousins, Brenda Johnson, and Theresa Dobbins; sister-in-law, Lisa Waits.
Survivors include her children, Rameshea Brandon, Jakayla Waits, and Roderick Waits, Jr.; parents, Claude and Joyce Tucker; father, Jack Majors; grandchildren, Shamya, Ashton, Kamyon, and JaQuin; dedicated aunts, JoAnne Johnson (Charles), and Shelia Waits (Willie); dedicated cousins, Robert Drakes, III., Sharon Snell, and David Guinyard; dedicated friends, Sidonia King, Darniece Brown, and Cristilyn Henderson; and many other loving relatives.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Waits, Jr., Robert Drakes, III., David Guinyard, and Robert Drakes, IV., Charles Johnson, III., and Michael Foster; honorary Pallbearers are David Snell, Charles Johnson, Jr., Roderick Waits, Sr., Keith Walton, Daryl Whitaker, Rashad King, Joshua Snell, Darrell Ervin, II., DaMarea Ervin, Calvin Hamilton, Darrell Sadler, and Arron Brandon.
The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Hillcrest Medical ICU Staff, especially James Harris, and her amazing physician, Dr. William Mark Hinds.

I went to school with Roderick and Jakayla and I am so sorry about the passing of y’all’s mom. I remember seeing her at our school at Connally a few times and Jakayla looks just like her. I am definitely praying for you guy’s strength during this difficult time. My sister works on the ICU floor at BSW. I met Jacque while our children were attending Connally school. Her smile would light up a room and she had a beautiful spirit. She and I hit it off the first day we met. We had one thing in common and that was we didn’t play about our children. She was a super mom to her children.. I didn’t get to see Jacque much after our children graduated but when I did see her it was like old times again. We were a tight-nitted group of parents, friends and big time supporters of our children. Renee Cooper, Nona King, Susan Thames and DeLisa Burnell , Antoinette MCutcheon and Wanda King. To this bereaved family, my adopted family, due to the relationships formed initially when our kids attended school together. What an instant connection that continued even after our kids graduated and we moved in various directions. From our sisterhood dinners, our family gatherings, our holiday celebrations together, our shopping trips, video calls, daily text threads and our just because Zoom calls, I am thankful to have these precious memories and hearing the words, “Lil Sis” from Jacquie with her special laugh immediately after.
