Glenn Haigood, 84, of Mart, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his residence.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Road, in Waco.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19th, at Lake Shore Funeral Home followed by a reception hosted by the family. Burial will be at Mart Cemetery later in the day.
Glenn was born July 16, 1932 in Mooreville to Fred and Edna Martin “Gaggie” Haigood. Glenn worked at Texas Coffin Company in Waco for 35 plus years and then at Wise Products in Waco for 25 years. He retired November 30, 2011 having worked for a total of 63 years. He married Kathy Ascher on August 23, 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Edward Haigood, Winchell Haigood, Homer Haigood and Charlie Haigood; and his sisters, Opal Atkins, Frances Hedrick and Letha Mae Holland.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Ascher Haigood of Mart; sons, Douglas G. Haigood and wife, Denise of Waco and Cliff Federwisch and wife, Judy of Lorena; daughter, Debra L. Haigood of Lorena; brother and sister-in-law, Jim Haigood and wife, Pat of Gholson; sister-in-laws, Beverly Haigood of Gholson and Doris Erskine and husband, Joe of Kosse; grandchildren, Courtney Summers and husband, Kyle of Mart and Tyler Federwisch of Great Lakes, Illinois; great-grandson, Bently Kyle Summers of Mart; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Glenn’s memory be directed to the Baylor Scott & White McClinton Cancer Center, 150 Hillcrest Medical Blvd, Waco, TX 76712

I am so sorry for the loss and emptiness you have now since Glenn has left this heavenly earth to be with our Lord. He was such a good and loving man. I always remember the smile he had.
