James “Jim” Davis, 76, of China Spring, passed away May 3, 2016 at his home in China Spring.
Visitation: Friday, May 6th, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend Road, in Waco.
Honoring Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated.
Jim was born June 15, 1939 in Waco, the oldest son of L.T. and Cleo Davis. He married Jackie Reed Davis on July 3, 1957 and served his country in the US Air Force for four years. He became a fireman for the Waco Fire Department in March of 1962 and retired as a Captain in January of 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jackie Davis of China Spring; daughter, Deborah Davis; two grandchilden, Alex and Andrew; two great-grandsons, Thomas and Donovan; brothers, Bubba Davis and Johnny Davis and wife, Lynn; sister, Judy Pattillo and husband, Dale; and numerous nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim’s memory may be directed to the Waco Firefighter’s Honor Guard, c/o Central Fire Station, 1016 Columbus Avenue, Waco 76701
