James Oscar Schwieger, 76, of Whitney, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018.
Jim was born August 15, 1941 to parents Ruth Scherzberg and Frederick Schwieger in Grand Island, Nebraska, where he was raised until graduating from Grand Island High School in 1959. October 14, 1962 Jim married his beloved wife of 55 years, Karen Ann Engle; shortly after, they and their two children moved to Homer, Nebraska where Jim worked for Nebraska Public Power and retired after 33 years. Jim and Karen decided to enjoy their retirement in the warmer southern weather, and moved to Whitney, Texas in 2007.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife, Karen; children, Dale and Pam; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary and Steve Schwieger; and sisters, Sandy Kemper and Jackie Beltzer.
