James T. Thompson, 76, passed away January 28, 2021.
God saw him getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around him
And whispered “Come to me.”
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer,
and saw him slowly fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hardworking hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
We wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the Thompson family. James “T” was a dearly beloved friend to the Eastland family. He was always there when needed and never expected anything in return. He loved people and one of his most memorable sayings was ” God put us here to help one another”. Helping others was something he did easily and often, with total grace and humility. There are many words to describe him. These are just a few – loving, caring, kind, generous, honest, thoughtful, protector, and consoler, He will be sorely missed and again we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family.
Classmates, Rosetta Rosemond Wesley, Dorothy Sherman Brown and friend Zack Wesley Jr., Wish to extend our Condolence to James T. Thompson Family. As classmates since 1st grade, we shared many things. James T. brought us joy, made us laugh and showed us love, having given us the lasting gifts of a beautiful life and blessed our memories forever. May God be close to you now, for strength and comfort and may His peace overflow in the days to come.
James was a dear friend of mine and my husband James (deceased) They shared similarities in names. James Thomas and James Thompson. His son Troy is married to our daughter Tracy. James was such a caring, friendly, outgoing person with a “contagious ” smile and laugh like no other. Really going to miss him. My deepest condolences to the family. May God comfort and strengthen you all during this time. Rest in peace “Pops”
Our Uncle “T” is one of the most humble men we’ve ever met. We both knew how to make him laugh and how to make him curse and threaten to hang up on us. We are gonna miss our hour long chats, Pizza Hut runs, him calling us “sweetie” and us calling him “old man.” We also named him James Theodore instead of James T. He just laughed at us and would say, “it’s just ‘T’ “. We know all of our time on this earth is numbered but we were not ready for his number to be called. We love you always and forever “Old man.”
