Janice was born on August 8th, 1947 in Crawford, Texas, the first child of Pool A. Miller and Norma Jean Dahl Miller. Janice graduated from Crawford High School, class of 1965, and was a Majorette in the High School Marching Band.
Following graduation, Janice studied secretarial and business training at Durham Business School in Waco, graduating in 1966. In December of 1966, Janice married Charles R. Mancherian. They moved from Waco, TX to New Orleans, LA, and then settled in Michigan. Janice was a loving mother to two children, Keven Anne Mancherian and Warren Richard Mancherian. She was a homemaker while the children were young and was a great supporter of their sporting events throughout their school years. Years later, when her children were adults, she enjoyed a clerical position for The Boston Red Sox during the team’s Spring training in Florida.
Janice was always a good salesperson and very social. She enjoyed speaking to seniors as an advisor at HOTCOG (Heart of Texas Council of Governments), and was very involved in selling Mary Kay Cosmetics. She dreamed of selling so much Mary Kay product that she would earn the pink “Mary Kay Cadillac.” She was a good storyteller and had a great sense of humor. She could be very animated when making a point (she was good at raising a very expressive eyebrow).
In her spare time, Janice worked on creative projects like scrapbooking or sewing. When she was a young mother, she used her sewing machine or knitting needles to create beautiful items of clothing. Janice loved to try new restaurants and appreciated good food and was always eager to join her friends for a treat or church or a game of cards.

Janice battled against several forms of cancer for almost 20 years: non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and breast cancer, and later cancerous nodules in the lungs as well as congestive heart failure. She participated in many fundraising events for the American Cancer Society.
