Jarred Owen Jones, known to many as “Wolf” of Waco, passed away away at home in the arms of the love of his life, Lori Ann Linares on Monday, August 22, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Wolf was born August 30, 1967 in Waco to the late Ted C. and Olivia Kathleen Jones. Wolf knew from a very young age that he wanted to have a career in art. On August 30th in 1986, Wolf began his professional career as a tattoo artist after a lengthy apprenticeship under Fat Cat at Fat Cats & Stuff in Waco. Over the years he had several studios such as Mark of the Wolf and Burning Desires and most recently Tattoos By Wolf which he and Lori put there heart and soul into. Wolf stayed with his choice of careers right up until his death. He made a name for himself in Texas as well as New York. He has been published in many magazines and has tattooed on members of some pretty well known rock stars such as Cinderella and Cheap Thrill just to name a couple. He loved life and loved people. He was a one of a kind southern gentleman. He lived his life to the fullest and he loved to the fullest. He was a recovering addict and he stayed on his path for over ten years. He met Lori and with her love and support he remained on his sobriety path until he passed. Wolf had the love and support of so many from across the United States and even as far out as Australia and Canada.
Wolf was preceded in death by his parents, Ted C. and Olivia Kathleen Jones (nee Sowell).
Wolf leaves behind to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy, The love of his life, Lori Ann Linares; son, Wesley Jones; his step children, Leanna (Daniel), Maria, and Joseph Linares; his brother, Ted C. and Diane Jones; his loving and devoted baby sister, Gena Jones; beloved friends of Gary, (Rhonda) Combs and Craig Coulter; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
A private service for family is pending.

You are the love of my life and you put a smile on my face when i never thought i would have one again. You made me proud every day that you chose to stay on the right path. From Texas to NY to Texas again we had so many plans and dreams. The day you left me, the day you and I were gonna marry, the day you told me that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS I will always be your wife will always be bittersweet for me. You are and will forever be my one true love. I love you baby to the moon and back and even farther……til I see you again

You were my friend my brother. You set such a good example for our industry. Positive attitude, teaching and constructive criticism, but not trash talking. One hell of a guy. I had the pleasure of seeing you again a few days before you were called home. I made you a promise and fully intend on keeping that promise. You will be sorely missed my brother. Now you can tattoo the wings on the angels in heaven. Love you brother.

He was one of the best people I have ever met. He will be missed greatly and I can say I never got any work done by him but my mother has….till we see you again Wolf.
I had the privilege of being one of Wolf’s clients and will carry his art with me with pride. He was an amazingly sweet man who was a true master at his trade and he was such a loving caring soul. While sitting for my tattoos he would always talk about he and Lori and tell me how she was his true other half. Lori, I know you already know this, but Wolf loved you with every cell in his body. He would talk about you and beam with pride that you were with him. Please take care of yourself and know that those of us that got the honor of knowing you as well are here for you !
Much love
Amy Talbot

I heard of WOLF and said to myself just another tattoo artist and let me check out what he has to offer well … First he treated me like a friend and called me brother and second he was very professional with his tattoo business and when I showed him what I wanted He acted like a big kid in a candy store like this was gonna be a great tattoo and can’t wait to do it then I met Lori and Wolf just couldn’t stop talking about her and you could see the love they had for each other and they treated me like a friend that they have known forever . I will miss him because it is hard to find an artist that loves what they do and wants to share it with everybody my tat has gotten so many compliments and i know that a part of WOLF will always be with me Miss you my tattoo artist and my friend save me a seat you still have to finish my back piece when we meet again R>I>P

I am late in my condolences, I just found out today, almost 6 years later, and so many google searches looking for Wolf from Waco, Texas.. I had lost his number many years ago.. I first met Wolf in Mt. Airy, NC and yes, I carry a Masterpiece upon my vesture, my right hip, a Wolf Tattoo, the best tattoo I have ever had and the final tattoo I will ever have..so long my friend, my love, I have thought about you much through the years, I hold our memories close and dear to my heart.. I am grateful to have had met you and to have such memories to cherish.. I am happy you had found someone to share your life with and the many friends you have made along your way. You was full of goodness and such beauty, you blessed others with the passion of your art and I was blessed with a piece of your passionate heart, Farewell My Love ‘95-‘96, my daughter Katelin Danielle Wright was murdered in my Mother’s backyard on August 17th, 2020, she was 21 years old and at the time her daughter, my granddaughter was only 3 1/2 and her murderer is running free and has not been charged I guess it takes more than I have to put him behind bars the police here will not do their jobs her case is still open but may her spirit meet yours in the heavens, i called her My Beautiful Butterfly, forgive me, I am still going through the grieving process, and I don’t think it will ever end, it’s hard losing your children and the ones you love and I have had many loses throughout the years.. Lori, you sound like a very nice woman who has been loved and adored and many friends you and Wolf had in common, I raise a glass to you and Thank You for being there and being true and it’s blessing to know that he was not alone.
May many blessings fall upon you from the heavens and may you know that the Lord is steadfast by your side!!
