Jean Emery Griffin, 84, of China Spring, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
Funeral Services: 10 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Ridin’ High Cowboy Church in China Spring with Rev. Mark Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco.
Jean Griffin was born July 18, 1930 in Waco to Frank and Eva Emery. In 1948 she married John Richard Griffin and together they had five children. Until her retirement, Jean worked as a lab technician at Providence Hospital and Waco Clinical Pathology Labs. Jean was a faithful member of Ridin’ High Cowboy Church and had a passion for the Lord Jesus Christ as well as her loving family.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Eugene Emery and Eva (Bean) Emery; and a sister.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, John R. Griffin of China Spring; children, Glen Griffin and wife, Jan of China Spring, Lynn Griffin and wife, Linda of China Spring, Janice Pelton and husband, Harold of Bellmead, Joyce Epps and husband, Robert of West, and Mark Griffin and wife, Dahna of China Spring; numerous grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Drake and husband, George of California.
Pallbearers will be Jean’s grandsons, Randy Griffin, Darrell Griffin, J.W. Whitaker, Robert Pustejovsky, Jr., Dustin Pustejovsky, Clint Griffin and Timothy Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry LeMay and Glenn Glass.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Jean’s hospice nurse, Rachel Barber, all the staff at Scott and White Hospice, and the Baylor Scott and White Hospital 4th floor staff.
