Joan was born Jan 6, 1936 in Mart. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Corville Lee Fisher; sons, Paul Comer of Dallas, Michael Fisher and wife Rachael of Los Angeles, CA and daughter, Lori Richardson and husband Bret of China Spring; grandchildren Joshua Comer and wife, Shelley, Candace Comer, Taylor Hyatt, Darcey Hyatt and Shia Fisher; great grandchildren Barrett Comer, Berkley Comer, Brady Comer and Channing Lee Hyatt and one brother Albert Nabors, Jr of Mexia, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her precious loving mother, Cordie Ganzer and brother, John Nabors.
A member of Western Heights Baptist Church, Joan is grateful for the fellowship and support of The Sarah Class and knows that there will be a great reunion in heaven for all
Joan’s life work can be summarized in the most proud and brief description possible: being devoted to her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Collectively, they were her pride and joy. Never putting herself first, she was involved as a room mother, den mother, girl scouts, VBS, a shuttle mom for practice of every sport and activity, short order cook (the best chicken fried steak in the universe), expert last minute shopper, counselor, encourager and the greatest listener. She was the best in every category. Add to that, volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She was our angel on earth and is now an angel with our Lord in heaven.
The family wishes to thank the entire 4th floor staff at Providence and in particular Maria, Tammy and Kelley for their diligence and tenderness in providing comfort through these trying last days.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations should be sent to Mission Waco World at www.missionwaco.org.
You can only have one Mother
patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you,
To mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our Dear Mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.

Words cannot be spoken to describe what an amazing friend Joan was to me. Our weekly bridge games always contained shared moments about kids and grandkids. Joan had quite a sense of humor and always brought a smile to everyone she was around. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Dearest Families,
Joan was one of the sweetest and kindest people we can think of. Each and every time we saw her through the years she was always there with a hug and warm hello. We are so sorry for your loss but rejoice that she is now in the arms of her Savior. Thinking and praying for you during this sad time.
I became acquainted with Joan when we served on the Bereavement Committee at Western Heights several years ago. I loved her sense of humor, and we always had a good time teasing and laughing as we worked in the kitchen.
Corville and my husband were in the Partners SS class.
We mourn her passing; yet rejoice knowing that Joan is safe at home in Heaven.
We know your heart are hurting – our sympathy to all of the family.
Peace and Prayers,
Joyce and Don Alanis
I am sadden to hear this news. Mrs Joan was a wonderful woman to my entire family. She used to work with my dad Steve Parke for many years and was always like a grandmother to me. She took me under her wing when I would go up there to work. She was always smiling and was just a joy to be around. I wish I could have told her what a wonderful person she was before it was too late.
Love you Always and forever
To the Fisher Family –
We are so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. She was quite a woman — and sure lived life large and full of laughter. She was always so proud of all her family — and was a good buddy to my mom, Shirley Bolin. From her years at VanTran, Al has many, many special Joan stories and memories. May your many, many memories help you through this most difficult time. Our thoughts are with you — Ken and Nancy Kral
