JoAnn (Porterfield) Rockett, 84, of Mooreville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital with her family by her side.
Service Information: Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory.
JoAnn was born August 13, 1936, in Waco, Texas, to Sarah (Hastings) Porterfield and Luther G. Porterfield.
JoAnn worked for Sears & Roebuck and the City of Waco for many years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Rockett; parents, Sarah and Luther; brothers, Billy Ray and J.D.
She is survived by daughter, Paige Light and better half, Mike Alston, of China Spring; son, Charles Ewing and wife, Virginia, of Valley Mills, granddaughter, Brittany Lawhon and husband, Bronson, of China Spring; grandsons, Cody and Cooper Ewing; great-grandson, Lane Lawhon; step-children, Donald R. “Bubba” Rockett, Jr., Lisa Henson and family, Boyce Rockett and family, and Kelly Stephens and family.
We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Hillcrest Hospital for always taking good care of “Grandma”.
This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
