Joe L. Woychesin, 73, of China Spring, passed away Monday, May 6th. Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, May 11th at First Baptist Church of China Spring with Rev. Michael Copeland and Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, May 10th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Joe was born January 10, 1940 in Marlin to Joe Louis Woychesin, Sr. and Tillie E. (Wornat) Woychesin. He graduated from Marlin High School in 1958. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1962 from Texas A & M University. Joe began his career in Aerospace with General Dynamics in Fort Worth. He then went to work for Boeing in Seattle, WA. Joe finished his career and retired from Bell Helicopter in 1994. He married Janis King on January 14, 1995. They moved to the Waco area in 1996. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in China Spring. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, loved working outdoors and adored caring for his animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Woychesin; sister, Shirley Ann Woychesin; and infant sister, Martha Woychesin.
Survivors include wife of 18 years, Janis Woychesin of China Spring; stepdaughter, Margo Conrad and husband Kevin of Mansfield; stepsons, Dan Lawrence and wife Michelle of Southlake, and Bill Lawrence and wife Cozette of Arlington; six grandchildren, Miranda, Jakob, Peyton, Carson, Callie, and Nolan; special cousin, Virginia Dehart and husband Bobby of Waco; and numerous family and friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge a special thanks to Dr. Amato and the medical team at U.T. Physicians Group, Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, and to the Providence Hospice team as well, for their professional and loving care.

Joe was a valued member of our MHS graduating class of 1958. Those of us who went through Marlin schools with Joe will miss him and wish him Godspeed.
