John Kluczynski, 62, loving husband, dad, son and brother, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021. Funeral services will be 10AM Saturday, September 4 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, September 3 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
John was born May 1, 1959 in Detroit, MI to Vitold and Jane Kluczynski.
He grew up loving cars and enjoyed working on them. While working at a car factory in Detroit, a man he knew from High School took time to tell him about how he needed Jesus as his Savior. He accepted Christ and decided to move to Texas to get away from his rowdy friends. He went to Arlington Baptist College to learn about the Bible.
He met Donna and they were married after his first year in Bible College. Since then, they raised a family and enjoyed a wonderful, happy life with challenges and adventures. He tried really hard to always make his family feel safe, warm and loved. He worked at many different jobs as a police guard, truck driver, hanging windows and doors, pastor of a church, selling advertising and many other things.
He loved his wife, kids, grandkids and family deeply. He also met a lot of friends along the way. He would walk in and light up a room with his smile and his sense of humor. He tried to brighten everyone’s day that he came in contact with sometimes with a good joke. And to me, his wife, I had the best husband ever! God knew what he was doing when He brought us together. John loved Jesus and it showed in everything he did in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife of 41 years, Donna Kluczynski; children, Johnathan Kluczynski and wife Sara, Jennifer Simon and husband Shawn, and Justin Kluczynski and wife Carissa; grandchildren, Jace, Emma Jane, Lyla May, Victory, Jackson, and Skylar; sisters, Mary Schaffer and husband Larry, and Joann Forsythe; and several other relatives.
He will be missed by all.
Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

So very sorry, Donna. I enjoyed meeting John in May at the awards banquet and visiting with you both. May God wrap his arms around you and your family in the days ahead.
I am his mother-in-law. He was the best son-in-law in the whole world. He did so many things for me after my husband passed away. He was helpful, loving and kind. He had lots of friends and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. God bless his family.
In 1978, after high school graduation and working with John in a factory here in Detroit, we decided to head to Bible college in Arlington Texas. Passing through Oklahoma and experiencing the heat in August in the back of his van with no air-conditioning, I asked him if we could turn around, he just laughed at me. As we arrived on campus, John went off road and drove through campus. I thought, this guy needs a good woman, and he got one in Donna. That connection from beginning to end was one we all admired. We have always kept in touch, especially through his humor. For those who knew him well, know he always left and extraordinary good spirit behind. There was nothing bad about John. I’m proud to admit, through tears, he was one of my best friends.

Dear sweet Donna I pray for God to wrap his arms around you and fill you with comfort and love. I didn’t know John but I know he made you happy. He will be waiting for you when you get your promotion also.
Sending you all love and prayers
John was a wonderful Christian man who dearly loved his wife and children. It’s been a long time but I have wonderful memories of all of you. May he rest in peace.
Donna, We are so surprised to hear of John’s home going! However Joni & I rejoice he is with our Savior that he loved so dearly. John has been praised in the posts I’ve been reading but you know they are just a shadow of the man who is a gentle giant. John would hear all this and just say “aww!” Joni and I are lifting prayers for you, the kids and grandkids.
Fondly remembering that trip to Michigan in the white van!
Love Tim & Joni
I am so sorry for your loss Donna. Wr are praying for you and your family.
As a former neighbor and parishioner, I can say for certain John will be missed. They used to call me “Mother Goose, as I led 7 children out of my minivan and into the church… Evergreen I believe it was called. When my daughters, Melinda and Kayla were baking chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen with Jennifer, I went room to room in my house. When I counted child #25, I sent all outside to play except the 3 making cookies. I have missed you all Donna and I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. You were indeed blessed with a beautiful family!
We’re coming up on a year since we lost John. It’s hard to believe. I’m sure he’s brought much joy to the Lord in heaven, but I sure do miss our phone conversations about everything, and nothing. He was comfort food, (bacon), in a cold, lonely, misdirected world. Miss you brother.
