Johnnie Beatrice Thompson, 79, of Waco, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Hillcrest in Waco, Texas.

Visitation:  5pm to 7pm Friday, August 30th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco, TX 76708

Celebration of Life:  11am Saturday, August 31st at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4911 N. Johnnie was born in Palestine, Texas to Dorothy Gibson and VaDell Bagley Sr. on November 13, 1944. She attended West High School and graduated with honors. She met and married her next-door neighbor and childhood sweetheart, Royce Alfred Thompson on January 27, 1964. She gave birth to 2 children, Royce Jr. and Rebecca, and raised 19 foster children.

Johnnie dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in1971 and continued faithful to Jehovah until her passing. Her passion was reading and studying the bible as well as writing spiritual letters to the community. She shared bible truths to everyone who crossed her path. She exhibited being a very humble person who wore the fruits of the spirit very well. Her desire, resolution, determination and focus were to always please Jehovah.

She loved cooking, raising children and showing love to everyone. She had a flare for fashion and was an impeccable dresser from head to toe. And let’s not forget her strategic moves on the domino table.

Proceeding her in death is her mother, Dorothy (Gibson) Page and father VaDell Bagley Sr.; brothers, VaDell Bagley Jr., Brady Bagley, Rayford Bagley, Thomas Bagley and Larry Bagley; sisters, Ethaleen Bagley, Debra Thomas, Alice Fox and a host of other family members.

She is survived by her husband, Royce Alfred Thompson Sr.; son, Royce Thompson Jr. (Kizzie); daughter, Rebecca Thompson; multiple foster children; siblings, George Page Jr., Joan Wydermyer, Rosie Bee Willey (Bruce) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
