Heaven has a new Angel for Joy Lavonne Pfaff, 77, of Hewitt, Texas went to be with the Lord, comfortably and peacefully after a long struggle with COPD, CHF and Complete Respiratory Failure at 12:03 a.m. on August 15th, 2018 in Waco, Texas.
Joy was born on December 4th, 1940 in Bloomington, Indiana. Joy became a manager at Whataburger where she worked for over 15 years before retiring in 2000. She loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She was “Mom” to many over the years and she loved each of them as if they were her own sons and daughters. Joy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was knowing the joys of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father, James William Pfaff, her Mother, Thelma Florence (Clay) , her son Perry Lee Pfaff, her son Gregory Scott East, her Nephew Kevin Moore, her late husband Homer Gene Gregory and her first husband Virgil Thomas East. Her sisters Mary Alice, and Patricia Gayle, her brothers, Dallas and Ervin, her Sister-in-Law Shirley and her best friend, Linda Lou Mickel. Joy is survived by her children, Virginia Gayle East-Smith, Jeffrey (Kiki) East, and Warren Gene Gregory. Her Grandchildren, Christina Joy and Husband Josh, Corinna Rae East, John Thomas East, and Taylor Brianne Gregory. Her great-grandchildren, Charlie and Lizzie and her grand-dog, Shin-Yu. Her sisters Emma Mallory and Donna (Ralph) Moore and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. In lieu of a memorial service or viewing, Joy’s last wishes were that she be cremated. Cremation will take place at Lake Shore Funeral Home. |
