Joyce Jones Parker of Waco, Texas passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the age of 87. She was born March 7, 1931 to Verna and Vera Jones in Greenville, Texas where she graduated from high school.
She met Barzie Blev Parker in Colorado City, Texas and married on December 31, 1949 in Loraine, TX. Their marriage was blessed by a daughter, Pamela Kay and a son, Gary Lynn.
She and her family made their home in Denver City, Texas where they lived for 55 years and had many friends. Joyce worked for Bea’s Flowers for many years. She and her husband were long time and faithful members of the Denver City Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by husband: BarzieBlev Parker; her parents: Verna Edgar Jones and Vera Dale Elliott Jones; grandparents: Joseph Joshua Jones and Minnie Day Pryer; by three brothers, Earl Jones, Dale Jones, and Bob Jones; by three sisters, Juanita Reynolds, Jo Edgar, and Helen Crouch.
She is survived by her children; one daughter, Pamela Holmes and husband Russ of Amarillo; and, one son, Gary Parker and wife Gayla of Waco. four grandchildren, Russell Brandon Holmes, Cinnamon Kaye Holmes, Matthew Scott Parker and Kathryn Nicole Parker; seven great grandchildren, Justin Shane Holmes, Devin Parker Holmes, Sybil Marie Holmes, Madison Sloan, Lillie Sloan, Isabel Alyse De La Pena and Aaron Blake De La Pena.

Gary and Pam, you both know just how mmuch that I have always loved Joyce and Barzie! They were both wonderful Christian people and fine parents! I knew and loved them before I ever met my brother-in-law Gary or friends Pam and Russell’. They have finished their earthly journey and await the day when I feel sure the good Lord will say to both of them “Well done thy good and faithful servant!
