Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Dunn, age 70, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside Service: 3pm Friday, September 22nd at Wortham Bend Cemetery, China Spring, Texas
Kenny was born July 12, 1953 in Newport, Arkansas to Harvey and Ruby (Winfrey) Dunn. He worked as a crane operator for many years before going to work for TXDOT, where he retired after 12 years. Kenny loved people and would do anything to help someone in need. He married Ruby Thompson Rutan on March 30, 2001. Kenny and Ruby attended Harvest House of Prayer during their first year of marriage and then became active members of Apostolic Tabernacle of Waco UPC. Kenny spent many hours helping at the church in any capacity needed. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing his guitar at church and with his friends and family. Outside of serving his Lord and Savior and spending time with his family, Kenny’s favorite pastime was fishing – especially for crappie.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ruby Dunn; sister, Barbara Ann Murphy; and brother, David Glenn Dunn. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 22 years, Ruby Dunn; daughter, Tammy Sanford; grandchildren, April Sanford and husband Cody and Brandi Sanford; great grandchildren, Brylon and Codah Sanford; brother, Harvey Dunn and wife Candice; sister-in-law, Debbye Dunn; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was a sweet and generous spirit and a doer of kind deeds. He supplied my Mom with a mess of fish almost every time he went fishing. Crappie was Mom’s favorite fish. My he rest in God’s loving arms.
Kenny was a friend and had known him for over 40 years. He played music with some great people and I will always keep him in my heart.

I remember Kenny as a quiet and steady worker at TxDOT. He loved fresh vegetables and eggs. I loved it when he came around with the peanut brittle. I pray for his entery into Eternal Life and for peace for his family and love ones that remain, Amen. Rest peacefully Kenny.
Kenny was such a great man. He was always so kind and loving to everyone he knew. Rest easy sweet man and hug my boy for me.
