Ladis Joe “Paw Paw” Marek age 76, gained his angel wings Saturday, March 12,2022 in Waco.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Memorial Service: 11:00 am Friday, March 18, 2022 at Church of the Open Door. Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating.
He was born June 15, 1945, in Cameron, Texas to parents, Ladis and Thelma Marek. He was a loving husband, father and paw paw. He married Mary Jo Goldhagen in Waco, June 18, 1966. The couple had three children together.
Ladis loved serving others at the Food Pantry at Church of the Open Door along-side his wife. He loved to go fishing and spending time with his family. He loved to tell stories and jokes. Ladis never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marek; parents, Ladis Marek and Thelma (Thompson) Marek; brother, Billy Wayne Marek; and sister, Annie Bell Morgan.
Ladis Joe “Paw Paw” Marek is survived by his children, Robert Marek of Waco, Ladis Joe Marek “Joe” and wife Amy of West, and Lisa (Marek) Grismore and husband Ron of Waco; grandchildren, Lora Jones and husband De Marcus, Scott Marek and wife Charity, Marlana Grismore, Kyle Marek, and Karsen Marek; great-grandchildren, Matthew Jones and Sutton Marek; sisters, Mary Lou Scott and Marilyn Sue Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
