Laura Pauline Stewart, 92, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at a local retirement center. Graveside services will be 10 AM Saturday, July 7th at Morgan Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Smith officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Friday, July 6th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Pauline was born April 29, 1920 in Kopperl to Aron and Leafy (Smith) Johnson. She was reared in Kopperl and brought up in the Kopperl Baptist Church. She married A.L. Stewart in 1937. She received her LVN license from Holt Hospital in Meridian in 1954. She and A.L. moved to Waco in 1957. Pauline worked as a LVN and retired from Sloan-Coleman Medical Clinic in Waco. She was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Stewart; and brothers, Lewis Johnson and Cecil Johnson.
Survivors include her sons; Leland Stewart and wife, Sandra, of Waco, Michael Stewart of Temple; sister, Lorene Alsup of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, David Stewart and wife Martha, Debbie VanCleave and husband Billy Don, Misty Christensen and husband Tate, and Wendy Zehe; great- grandchildren, Max, Logan, Hannah, Alex, Brittany, Blake, Tyler, Sydney, Luke and Ashlyn; and great-great-grandchild, Kylee.
Pallbearers will be David Stewart, Maxwell Stewart, Alex Stewart, Billy Alsup, Billy Don VanCleave, and Blake VanCleave.
Special thanks to the caregivers at Sterling House and to Providence Hospice.

We are so sorry to learn of Pauline’s passing. She was a great friend to our family. We have many good memories of visiting with her, A.L., Leland, and Micky in Meridian and Waco many years ago.
