Leah Fay Loyer

Loyer

Leah Fay Loyer ,71, Waco, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

Celebration of Life:  2pm Tuesday, January 17 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Moore officiating. In honor of Leah please wear bright colors.

Visitation: 6-8pm Monday, January 16, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Our beloved mom has gone to her forever home in heaven. She was born in Waco, Texas September 7, 1951, to Milton and Bettie Fossett Jr. She married her lifelong love of 53 years, Tom Loyer  March 1, 1969. They went on to have three children, Deanna, Rick, and Beverly. They later gained an honorary son, Daryl.

She loved spending time with their seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many pets over the years. Throughout her life she loved planting and maintaining her garden and many flowerbeds, which attracted an array of birds with hummingbirds being her favorite to watch. If she wasn’t doing arts and crafts, she would be participating in various fundraisers benefitting her family or community. She had a passion for reading, going on family trips, and listening to her favorite artists, Elvis, George Straight, and Wade Hayes. She also loved to bake and cook for her family on special occasions and holidays. Some of her recipes will live on throughout the family. She was a member of McGregor Garden Club, McGregor Red Hat Society, McGregor Book Club and Speegleville Saddle Club.

But most of all the many daily or late-night phone conversations will be greatly missed. She was extremely smart, intuitive, and loved her whole family fiercely. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by parents, Milton Fossett, Jr. and Bettie Jo Gillaspie Fossett; grandparents, Monroe and Maggie Gillaspie,  and Milton and Evelyn Fossett.

Leah is survived by husband, Thomas Loyer; daughters, Deanna Putnam and Greg of Waco, and Beverly Aid of Waco; sons, Richard Loyer and Audrie of Waco, Daryl Nutt and Meaghan of Austin; grandchildren, Tommy Putnam and Kari of Cranfills Gap, Logan Putnam and Mariah of Clarendon, Donny Lane of Kemp, Jacob Aid of Whitney, Cheyenne Key and Christian of Waco, Wyatt Loyer of Waco, and Marshall Nutt, of Austin; great grandchildren, Coy Putnam and Kade Putnam, both of Cranfills Gap, Tucker Putnam and Teal Putnam of Clarendon, Declan Lane and Levi Lane, both of Kemp, Gracie Key and Hunter Key, both of Waco.

Special thanks to Royal Manor Nursing Home and staff, Visiting Angels, and Bluebonnet Health Care.
