Dickie, also known as “Duck” to some, was born February 5, 1954 in Elgin and moved to Waco along with his mother, when he was a baby. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Marcelino & Esther Flores. From his uncle he gained a love for trains, sports, and the New York Yankees and as a young teen he grew a passion for music, especially a passion for playing the guitar. He was an amazing husband, father, uncle, brother, friend, and by far, the best guitar player in our eyes. He loved the Lord with all his heart and anyone who came in contact with him, knew his passion for the Lord and that he wouldn’t compromise the Word but didn’t turn his back on anyone.
He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Marcelino and Esther Flores; father and step-mother, Maximiliano (Masi) and Cecilia Villanueva Sr.; step-father, Paul Carrizales; and brother, David Villanueva.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Villanueva; daughter, Melanie Villanueva; son, Danny Villanueva; granddog, Boots Villanueva; mother, Beatrice Carrizales; sisters, J. Irene Perez of Temple, Ramona Moreno and husband, Manuel of Taylor, and Cecilia Click of Cedar Park; brother, Maximiliano (Max) Villanueva Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by so many relatives and friends.
Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708

From me and my wife we send our deepest condolences, love and prayers. May God wrap his arms around you all.
I have known Dickie since 1983 when we worked together at Goldstein Migel. He was always kind. Always funny. A great photographer. He took my favorite photo of me. We have remained friends through our restaurant. We were honored to cater Lisa and Dickie’s anniversary. The world has lost an amazing man. And heaven has gained another angel. RIP with God.
May the Lord uphold and sustain you in peace and love through this season. May your hearts be comforted and your spirits be at ease knowing our hope is in Christ!
Soon we shall behold the Lord and our brother Dickie!!

I’ve known Dickie since the late 60’s or early 70’s. We were friends, rival schools but friends. Sunday flag football, “The Green Phantoms” and a ride in his mustang convertible, top down, freezing cold and eating ice cream, are my memories. He will be missed

Goodbye old friend. See you again one day.
Condolences to the family He was always kind whenever he came into the office to drop off papers. I would sometime lose papers and he started making 3-4 copies so I would not lose them. We always laughed about it. He will be missed. God be with you Villanueva Family especially our friend Danny

Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for the passing of Dickie. Please accept our condolences. Dickie was a God fearing man that never wavered in his faith. I will forever hold my dear cousins memory in my heart. Until we meet again on that grand day soon to come.
I can only say, this is caught me by surprise. I was so looking forward to trying to get together after all these tears. Brother, I shall pray the LORD keeps your family comforted knowing you are in the hands of the Father now. I’m sorry for their loss. Not much I can say as I am speechless to hear of your passing. God bless you my friend and keep your memory in the hearts of those who knew you from back in the day!
