Born Aug., 5, 1939, in Menard, Texas, to farmers Benito and Guadalupe Rosas, Lorenzo was born into a large family which included 10 brothers and sisters. The family moved to Kansas in about 1949. Lorenzo was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses Oct. 7, 1955. Although most of the family returned to Texas in 1959, Lorenzo did not move back until 1961.
He married Gregoria Diaz May 11, 1962, and they had six beautiful children together. Lorenzo and Gregoria taught all of their children about Jehovah and are proud to see that effort reflected in the lives of their children and grandchildren. Lorenzo always placed his faith in Jehovah. He served in English congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Western Kansas, and served as an elder in Spanish congregations in the Waco area. One of his loves was to work on many Kingdom Hall construction projects and even International construction projects for the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. In his last days, he spoke of the paradise and his hope to see his entire family there. He enjoyed listening to kingdom melodies every day and the reading of the Watchtower and Awake magazines.
He lived in the Waco area since 1971 and operated businesses with his brothers, nephews and other family members. Lorenzo owned and operated Aztec Drywall and Insulation as well as Aztec C.M. Inc.
