Lucia Mae “Lue” Fletcher, 85, of Ft. Worth, formerly of Waco, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014. Graveside services will be 11AM Tuesday, March 18th at Lorena Cemetery with Rev. Danny Tenney officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Monday, March 17th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Lue was born July 8, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Thurman Cleveland and Lucia M. (Ross) Thomas. She married Charles (Jerry) Fletcher on September 3, 1949 in Lake Charles, LA. Lue was envolved in Republican Politics in grassroots Iowa, meeting noteables such as the Reagan’s, U.S. Ambassadors, and singing in Dutch’s Dollies at the Republican National Convention and at the inauguration. She made two trips to Europe and Caribbean cruises that she was very proud of. She loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles “Jerry” Fletcher; parents; and brother, Thurman Thomas.
Survivors include daughters, Sandra Fletcher of Ft. Worth, Faith Sumpter and husband Steve of Lake Charles, LA, and Beth Fletcher of Lorena; sons, Scott Fletcher and wife Stacy of Bruceville-Eddy, and Ross Fletcher and wife Zeila of Monterrey, Mexico; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Lavon Black of Sedgwick, KS; brother, Earle Thomas and wife Connie of Sacramento, CA; best friend since Jr. High, Dolores Rhoby; and her faithful dog of 15 years, Amy.
