Luella Mitchell Ladd, 85, of China Spring, passed away Thursday, October 30th at a local care center.
Funeral Services: 11AM Monday, November 3rd at First Baptist Church of China Spring with Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8PM Sunday, November 2nd at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com.
Luella was born on March 13, 1929 in Wortham Bend to Henry and Annie (Robinson) Mitchell. She married Edwin Ladd on May 29, 1946. Together, they owned and operated Ladd Feed and Seed Co. for over 30 years. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church in China Spring for many years that included teaching Women’s Sunday School Class for nine years, and later a member of the Friendship Class, as well as reaching friends and family through telephone ministry. She was also active in the China Spring Civic Club and Cousins Club. She loved to help people in need. She was a wonderful mother and is so loved by her family and was a true and loving friend to her many, many friends.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin L. Ladd; son, Edwin L. Ladd, Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Talbert and husband, Mike of Valley Mills; sons, Billy Ladd and wife Ruth of China Spring, and Homer Ladd and wife Jeanie of China Spring; grandsons, Chris Talbert of Meridian, Matt Talbert of Valley Mills, Clint Ladd of San Marcos, and Thomas Ladd of Waco; granddaughters, Tracy Ladd of Muenster, Amie Cream of China Spring, and Cryste Beard of Katy; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Talbert, Matt Talbert, Clint Ladd, Thomas Ladd, Bryan Cream, and Perry Beard. Honorary pallbearers are Rev. Joe Miller, Bubba Nelson, and deacons of First Baptist Church of China Spring.
The family would like to thank Regent Care and Bluebonnet Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and care.
