Luis Garza, 69, of McGregor, TX passed away Tuesday August 14, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends at a Temple hospital. He was born in Frederick, OK on January 6, 1943. Where he lived and raised his two daughters Susan Garza and Sharon Garza. He worked in Frederick at Centre Granite, Tillman County Court House, First National Bank of Frederick. He moved to McGregor after retiring in May 2000. Luis enjoyed helping people, meeting new people, going to church. He also enjoyed tinkering in the garage while listening to his music. He always was reaching out to the community to offer a hand. Most of all, he spent time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucio Garza and Maria Vasquez; and his wife Alda Garza.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Garza and Sharon Garza, son-in-law, Kenneth Upshaw; grandchildren, Dereck Coleman, Chelsea Coleman and Jeremiah Upshaw; siblings, Mary Jane Perez, Sarah Pena, Steve Garza, Lucio Garza, Mary Helen Days, Nellie, Teresa, and Joe Garza.

My condolences to the family of Luis. I worked as a police officer in Frederick, OK alongside of Luis. He was a friend and I always enjoyed his company when he was a jailer with the Tillman County Sheriffs Office.
