Madeline Jewel Goff 76 of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3PM Saturday, December 19th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
Madeline was born March 4, 1944 in Stephenville. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Faubus and Elizabeth L. Shimmins. She was also the step-daughter of S.A. Allgood whom she thought of as her father. Madeline grew up in Waco and attended University High School and McGregor High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Merle Lee Goff, Sr. of McGregor, and their union was blessed with five children.
As a young mother, Madeline worked alongside her husband as office manager and bookkeeper in the Kirby Vacuum business. Later, Madeline would return to college and obtain degrees in Computers and Accounting at McLennan Community College and Baylor University. Madeline would finish out her career working in public accounting in which she enjoyed many years of faithful service.
At an early age, Madeline professed her faith in God and in Jesus Christ. Madeline had a strong faith and always encouraged her children to look towards the future and to God when we had problems and uncertainty. Madeline’s unwavering faith and strength made her able to stay positive and maintain her “hallmark” cheery smile and twinkle in her eye no matter what came her way.
Our mother led an active life and was never one to remain idle. She was always taking off to run a 5K race, biking, hiking, camping, square dancing and horseback riding. Her favorite past times were crocheting and gardening. She was gifted in everything she did no matter what it was.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Cindy Dupree, Robert Faubus, Jr., Martha Etheridge, Della Thompson, and Mary Connor.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Merle Lee Goff, Jr. (Lucy) of Friendswood, Gordon L. Goff of Waco, Kelley M. Updegraff (Robert) of Waco, Michael T. Goff of Katy, and Erin J. Canterbury (Aaron) of Locust Hill, VA.; nine grandchildren, Chad Boen, Tevin Goff, Ashley Ulrich, Angelica Goff, Caelan Goff, Meigan Goff, Zachary Goff, Blake Garcia and Emilie Garcia; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Max Faubus of Bastrop, and Sam Allgood of Sanger; sister, Kathy Buro of Bastrop; and a host of many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends as well as numerous others.
The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to all her caregivers, especially DeeDee for the personal care, love and compassion for our mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Meals on Wheels or Friends for Life.

I rolled my pickup in 1989 was blocking both lanes between valley mills and Waco. Madeline not only saved my life by stopping an 18 wheeler from running me over, she road in the ambulance and stayed at the hospital until I was stabil.
I took her to lunch and bought her flowers when i healed up, but never spoke again.
I reached out to a friend in Dallas told him I was going to try to find her, he sent me this.
What a true angel she was, your all blessed for having her in your lives.
