Margie Mae “Granny” Collier, 84 of Waco, passed away December 5, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Visitation: Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Celebration of Life Service: Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00AM in the chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Chaplain Larry Holder officiating.
Burial: China Spring Cemetery and pallbearers will be Patrick Collier, Peter Collier, Johnathan Collier, Mark Collier, Derrick Gonzales, and Michael Lewis.
Margie was born April 8, 1932 in McGregor, Texas to the late Buck Carl and Delia McMahan McAdams. Margie married the love of her life, John Earl Collier, Sr. January 24, 1948. She worked for over 30 years at Owens & Illinois Manufacturing. Margie enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, caring for her many animals and playing bingo. You always knew that you would be fed well when you went to visit Granny, her family will deeply miss her many specialty dishes. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Delia McAdams; her husband of over 47 years, John Earl Collier, Sr.; two sisters and three brothers.
Margie is survived by her loving children, John “Dickie” Collier, Jr., Deborah “Sister” Keeling and husband John, Tim Collier and wife Kim, and Terry Collier and wife Debbie; survived by six siblings; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
Margie’s family would like to offer a special thank you to her caregiver, Diann Choins, and Scott & White Hospice for their many hours of loving care they provided to their mother. They would also like to thank Waco Animal Hospital, ABC Clinic and Fuzzy Friends for their assistance in helping to find loving homes to Margie’s babies.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to the ABC Clinic in Waco to assist them in their efforts to continue to offer lower cost veterinary care.
