It’s with deep sorrow and heartfelt respect, that we announce our mother, Mariana Rusu, Passed away Friday, June 28, 2024.

Funeral Service: 9am Sunday, June 30, 2024 with one hour visitation prior at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Moore Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Mariana Rusu, a devout woman of God. Mariana’s life was a shining testament to faith, love, and generosity, leaving an everlasting mark on all who were blessed to know her. Born on May 13, 1962, Mariana was raised in Botoşani, Romania. She lived a simple life helping her parents and family on their farm. Her unwavering devotion to God was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through every moment with grace and steadfastness. Her faith was evident in every aspect of her life, inspiring those around her. Mariana was the cherished mother of 15 children: Vali, Ana, Maria, Ruben, Naomi, Elisei, Lucian, Nathan, Ruth, Rebecca, Simon, Rahela, Phillip, Adela, and Magdelena, each of whom she nurtured with unconditional love and care. Her home was a haven of warmth, laughter, and the teachings of Christ. She dedicated her life to raising her children with the same unwavering faith and love that defined her own life.

Her generosity was boundless. Mariana was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, whether through offering a warm meal, a comforting word, or a place to stay. Her giving nature touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her community. She believed wholeheartedly in the words of her Lord Jesus Christ that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Mariana’s legacy extends beyond her immediate family. She was a pillar of her church community, serving faithfully in various ministries and always ready to share her wisdom, encouragement, and love. Her deep and abiding faith was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her 15 children and 26 grandchildren, each of whom carries forward her spirit of generosity and faith. Mariana’s loving presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help out with funeral costs. Mariana Rusu’s life was a beautiful example of selfless devotion to others, guided by unwavering faith. She leaves behind a world better for having known her, and her life will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed by her love. Rest in peace, Mariana. Your faith and love have left an everlasting legacy.
