Marshall was born to Anselmo and Criselda (Casas) Piña on March 29, 1954, and grew up in Moody, Texas. He was raised by his Tia, the late Celestina (Ama) Piña Sauseda.
Known for his Award-Winning smile and his quick-witted, sense of humor, Marshall was a hard-working husband, father, and loving grandfather who believed in family first. He was a man who had a deep admiration for the great outdoors. His love for outdoors included but was never limited to, fixing cars, working on projects, cooking his top-notch burgers and tacos on his favorite grill. He was always ready for a challenge and born to win at any competition. Bob wasn’t the only builder to make things happen, Marshall was meticulous in every project and would take the time to build his own rafts, go-karts, race cars, and had the most joy while riding his Harley Davidson through the countryside. One of his most dearest hobbies that he enjoyed and took pride in was car racing. His love of car racing started back in the 90’s, where he earned the respect of his peers and was known as “CrispyTaco #11”. If you were looking for him on the weekends, all you had to do was take a trip to Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott and 85 Speedway in Ennis and you would definitely find him ready to leave the dust behind on his opponents on that race track for the win. He was extremely proud of his collection of trophies from all his winnings and always had a great story to tell.
He retired from Gulf States Paper Corporation after 33 years and worked at Precise Hard Chrome (Texas Hydraulics) in Waco for over 10 years. Marshall enjoyed relaxing and watching old Western movies with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Randolph Scott and the Bonanza shows. He was a big football fan, who had an ongoing love-hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Piña Sauseda and youngest son, Marshall Sauseda Jr., of Bellmead; daughter, LuChana Sauseda Ayers and husband, Willie of Carrollton; son, Adrean Sauseda and wife, Bobbie, of China Spring; three grandchildren, Audrina Sauseda, Christian Ayers, and Madisyn Ayers; sister, Maria (Piña) Serna and husband, Ruben, of Alamo; brothers, Armando Piña and wife, Olga, of Ejido Nuevo Santana, Municipio Reynosa Tamaulipas, Balde Piña and wife, Linda, of Dallas; Gilbert Sauseda, Sr. and wife, Maricella, of Hewitt, and Raymond Sauseda, Sr. of Eddy; and many lovely nieces, knuckle-head nephews and crazy cousins.

Although I didn’t know Marshall as well as some, I can say he was always kind and had a smile when I was around him. He was a great friend to my dad and Michael. My dad loved their trips to Mexico, race nights, and many meals shared. He was a good man. I am so sorry for your loss and will be praying for God to wrap His arms around your family to being peace in this difficult time.

Uncle Marshall I will miss you dearly. I remember the last time I saw you was at my job when you came to get your back adjusted by Dr.Mordecai and of course you had everyone laughing. I will always remember your smile. You always had jokes and made sure everyone was laughing when you were around. You sure did light up a room and now you are up in heaven making sure all the angles are smiling. May god bless your family. We will all miss you dearly.
Words cannot express the hurt in our heart. Marshall was more than a friend to us, more like a brother whom we loved. I will always remember our trips to Mexico, what fun we had. The mornings you stopped by and had early morning coffee with Rock, the burritos you would bring us. Or just stopping by to say “hello.” The last time we saw his smiling face was early December, sitting at our kitchen table. I heard his voice for the last time on December 29th.
Rest high our dearest friend. Watch over us. We are gonna miss you. Sherrie and Marshal Jr, sending prayers for comfort and healing during this time.
This terrible disease is taking too many fine people to Heaven. We will continue to pray for the Sauseda family. We are unable to travel for the Service but will attend in Spirit.

DEAR SHERRIE I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY, AND KNOW GOD MUST HAVE HEARD. I FELT THE ANSWER IN MY HEART, ALTHOUGH HE SPOKE NO WORD. I DIDN’T ASK FOR WEALTH OR FAME – I KNEW YOU WOULDN’T MIND, I ASKED HIM TO SEND TREASURES OF A FAR MORE LASTING KIND. I ASKED THAT HE’D BE NEAR YOU IN ALL THINGS GREAT AND SMALL, BUT IT WAS FAR HIS LOVING CARE I PRAYED FOR MOST OF ALL. MARSHALL WILL BE MISSED, WE ARE SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
SINCERELY
MARK & CARROLL
May you “REST IN ETERNAL PEACE!!”
All I have to say is that Marshall Sauseda would always say “No one needs to cry if anything ever happens to me no one needs to cry, everyone should be strong and happy.

Dear Sauseda Family,
Thank you for a lovely service honoring such a special man. I feel blessed to have known a loving, caring, friend who lived life to the fullest. Not once do I recall Marshall being sad, if anything, he always had a smile and a hug who loved everyone he knew unconditionally. Know that I was touched when asked to read his obituary at the service because he left a lasting impression on me. Last year when we lost our Mother, a very dear friend told me…the pain of loss never goes away and speaking from experience this is so true. However, the sadness deminishes over time. Time is the healer. To Sherrie, Marshall Jr., Adrean & Luchana and all other family members, my prayers will continue that you are surrounded by loving family and friends whom you can lean on when needed. Count on me to be there for you at any given time. Love you always, Bebe Robbins
John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
I just learned of Marshall’s passing. Sherrie, we are praying for you and your family. I considered Marshall a dear friend and we enjoyed our many nights at the races watching Crispy Taco #11. May God bless Marshall. RIP
Dear Sauseda family
I know how hard it is for y’all both to have someone that was very special to y’all, a father to Marshall Jr, and a husband to Sherrie Sauseda, and a great friend to my family, and like family to me.
Also, he has always been the center of attention and he never had a sad face he always had a smile on his face.
When you have had a bad or sad day just call or go over Marshalls house and he would always bring a smile right to your face.
Something from his obituary I would love to read is that.
His love of car racing started back is the 90’s, where he earned the respect of his peers and was know as Crispy Taco #11. If you were looking for him on the weekends, all you had to do was take a trip to Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott and 85 Speedway in Ennis and you would definitely find him ready to leave the dust behind on his opponents on that race track for the win. That would always happen I always went over to his house and I would ce with a sad face and leave with a smile on my face.
Marshall’s favorite thing to say when he saw he was “There’s my daughter-in-law”. That would always bring a smile to my face. Marshall as I grow older and I would make your dream come true one day and that dream was to have him to me and his son Marshall Jr. to the movies one day, because me and Marshall Jr. have a lot of things in common. Marshall will always be in my heart and in my prayers and in his family’s heart and prayers.
Marshall will always be missed and loved.
