Marty Porter, age 60, of Elm Mott gained his wings early Thursday morning, June 16, 2023.
Visitation: 5 – 7pm Tuesday, June 20th at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 2pm Wednesday, June 21st at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Marty was born November 3, 1962 in Waco, Texas to Frank and Waynette (Mayberry) Porter. He attended school at Connally ISD. On December 7, 1981 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Roberts. Marty loved spending time outdoors, fishing trips to Port Aransas and catching up with his many life-long friends. His greatest joy was spending time and spoiling his grandchildren.
Marty was preceded in death by his grandparents, Christine and Wayne Mayberry and his sister, Christy Barton.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Carolyn Porter; daughters, Candus Scott, Cassandra Wronske and husband Jarred; son, Martin (Bubba) Porter and girlfriend Leah Thompson; brother, Tony Porter; grandchildren, Cheyenne Snelson, Bryce Ballentine, Zander Howard, Madison Scott, Samantha Scott and Braxton Porter; numerous nieces and nephews; special fuzzy friends, Red, Ivy, Missy and Boots as well as a host of life-long friends.
The family would like to thank all of Marty’s friends for their care and compassion, especially his flea market friends.

I hate I have lived so far away all these years and not had the chance to get to know sweet Marty better He is rejoicing with Jesus and we all will see him again! I love you both. ❤️
I, along with so many at Treasure City, will hold on to the memories with warmth and appreciation for all the laughter and wonderful meals he provided. We all learned that his ways were what made him memorable and his kindness will keep him in our heart and mind until we reunite. We will not be sad but rather celebrate the time he gave us while he was here. Peaceful rest our kind friend!

Marty will be truly missed , I’ve known since I was little boy, I lost connection with him & finely found him , we talked almost every day for several years, I would check up on him because I cared about him , He will always be in my thoughts, I don’t have to worry about him now because he’s in God’s Hands!
