Mary Elizabeth Sharp

Mary Elizabeth Sharp, 95, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

Visitation: 3-5 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, February 18, 2019 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Mary was born May 12, 1923, in Axtell, to Gustof and Annie (Heinish) Thun.  In her younger years, Mary was a private nurse.  She married Learoy Sharp, Sr., and together, they owned and operated Sharp Dairy Farm.

Mary loved to go hunting, fishing, playing dominos and bingo, and going to casinos.  She also loved being around her family and having family gatherings.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Learoy Sharp, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and William Martin Luther; daughter-in-law, Cecila Sharp; grandson, William Keith Luther; and great-great-granddaughter, Bentley Kail Sharp.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Anderson and husband, Jimmy, Connie Michum and husband, Rudy, and Marianne Hill and husband, Doyle; sons, Learoy Sharp, Jr. and wife, Teresa, Ronnie Sharp, Donald Sharp and Donna Beseda, and Tommy Sharp and wife, Julie; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family of Mary Sharp wishes to acknowledge and thank all of the friends who came to visit her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

    So sorry for your loss. We loved visiting with your mom when she was in the same room with our mom, Loreda Norman. Mary was so sweet and kind. She was always glad to see us. We missed her when she moved to a private room. Her smile and sweet spirit will always be remembered. Having lost Loreda just weeks ago, we know the sorrow of loss but pray you can rejoice in the joy of her homecoming to heaven. May the Lord bless you !
