Mary Ellen Threadgill, 88, of Robinson, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, after a short battle with cancer. A graveside service will be held at Rosemound Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, with Rev. Jerry Freedman officiating. No visitation is planned. Mary was born on March 13, 1925 in the small, West Texas town of Leuders. She moved to Waco at a young age where she eventually met and married the love of her life, David Threadgill. Mary made the choice to be a mother and homemaker. As her children grew she became active in school activities and the PTA. Mary was a scout leader with both the Boy and Girl Scouts. In her later years she worked alongside her husband with Threadgill Tax Service and they enjoyed traveling in their motor home. She was a charter member of Robinson Bethel Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Threadgill, Sr.; son, David S. Threadgill, Jr.; daughter, Mary L. Threadgill; and granddaughter, Stacy Threadgill Wilson.
She is survived by sons, Gerry and wife, Candace of Tomball, and Brian of Robinson; grandchildren, Craig Threadgill and wife, Nicole of Plano, Melissa Bullman and husband, Scott of Southlake, Meritte Threadgill of Tomball, Bradley Threadgill and wife, Hayley of Houston, Angela Doolittle and Celesete Doolittle of Tomball, Phylicia Riedel and husband, Kyle of Hewitt; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Robinson Bethel Methodist Church.
