Mary Lou Arzola (Grammy), 81, slipped away peacefully on Saturday March 9, 2024, from her four loving daughters and entered the paradise of Heaven, her beautiful forever home.
Visitation: 6 – 8PM Friday,March 15, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11AM Saturday March 16, 2024 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
She was one of 14 children, born April 21, 1942, to Trinidad and Elvira Tijerina. She was born in Waco and remained a Wacoan her entire life.
Mary loved cooking tasty Tex-Mex food and making the best flour tortillas for her family and friends. She spent most of her time surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved keeping a neat and tidy home and yard. Her hobbies were collecting coins and baseball cards.
She attended Waco schools, and later worked at Gulf States Paper Co., as a Class-A Inspector, she then went to work and retired from Raytheon.
Preceded in death by her parents; sisters; Annie Reyes, Lupe Tijerina, Ruth Sais, and Nancy Gonzales Brothers; Rudy Tijerina, Johnny Tijerina, and Trinidad Tijerina granddaughter; Tristan Denice Serrano.
Mary was blessed with four daughters, Rebecca Rodriguez, Debra Guerrero and husband Ignacio, Sally Ann Jordan and husband Brian and Laura Rodriguez whom she had very strong relationships with, all of Waco. Also, she was blessed with 12 beloved grandchildren, beloved great grandchildren, and beloved great great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by sisters, Rose Cirilo, Gloria Romero, Teri Gonzales and Vera Tijerina; and brother, Tony Tijerina.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bobby Horten, Bryan Horten, Randy Hinguanzo, Ignacio Guerrero Jr., Matthew Muniz, and Isaac Horten, and great grandsons, Tre Guerrero, and Ethan (Prechess) Gonzales.
