Mary Louise (Majors) Brandon, 86, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Visitation: 6 to 8PM Friday, September 20 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Service: 11AM Saturday, September 21 at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 106 Falls Co. Rd. 4044 in Satin. Burial will follow at Majors Chapel Cemetery, near Golinda.

Mary Louise Brandon was born January 5, 1938, to L.C. Majors, Sr. and Alvie (Pimpton) Majors. She attended Rock Dam School and Downsville High School. She met and married Weldon Brandon, to this union four children were born. She was a long-time member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for over 30 years for the Waco Independent School District where she retired. She loved caring for the neighborhood children. She was known as the neighborhood mom because the kids would come over every Friday and she would make hamburgers for them.

She was preceded in death by parents, L.C. Majors, Sr. and Alvie (Pimpton) Majors; brothers, Freddie Majors, L.C. Majors, Jr., Theodore Majors, Roosevelt Majors, Vernon Majors, Charles Majors and Marvin Majors; sisters, Alice Wilson and Ruby Jackson; and daughter-in-law, Minnie Brandon.
Mary is survived by sons, Mitchell Brandon (Carol), Leslie Brandon and Barrett Brandon; daughter, Lisa Ware (George); grandchildren, Marcus Brandon, Lemaya Smith, Chasney Brandon, Ryan Brandon, Shamirra O’Neal, Darrelle Ware, Dalisa Satchell, TaLeshia Brandon, Tamara Brandon, Sharde’ Ware, Leilani Quilantang, Amanda Willis, Atiera Turner, Shagala Smith, Tekayla Kilpatrick, Durell Dudley and Meagan McCrary; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Joel Majors of California and Curtis Majors, Sr. of Seattle, WA; sisters, Doristine Majors and Gloria “Von” Majors, both of Seattle, WA; special niece, Helen Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her granddaughter, Shamirra O’Neal, for helping with her care, her granddaughter, Dalisa Satchell, for taking care of her business needs, and her loving friends and family members, Mary McKenzie, Norma Sue Robinson, Bernice Pimpton and Annie Cromer.
