Michael was born October 30, 1966 in Waco to Harlon Wayne and Cheri (Ruff) Hutchinson. He attended Connally Schools and was a member of the Connally High Class of 1986.
Hutch began his work career while in high school at Nystrom Miniature Horse Farm and later worked at Van-Tran for 16 years. He then found his passion working as a jailer for the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office before joining the MCC Law Enforcement Academy. He then worked as a bailiff at the McLennan County Courthouse for over 10 years. His commitment to justice led him to become a detective, a role he held for five years before retiring on March 30, 2023. On December 4, 2021, Hutch married the love of his life, Stephani Balch. Their bond was unbreakable, and he cherished his role as a husband and father. Family meant everything to Hutch, and he adored his children, brother, and his law enforcement family. He was a Christian man, a faithful friend, and Stephani’s soulmate. Hutch’s presence was always felt, as he was there for anyone who needed him.
Hutch was preceded in death by his father, Harlon Wayne Hutchinson; and his sister, Brenda Blackburn.
Survivors include his wife, Stephani Hutchinson, and their children: Kyle Hutchinson (Savannah Stanford), Morgan Hutchinson (Cole Schutza), Kaylee Bohannon, and Gracie Bohannon; mother, Cheri Gibbons; brother, John Hutchinson (Rebecca); sister, Leighanne Busch; nieces, Peyton Hutchinson, Bridgett Groves, Christina Busch, Brittany Westmoreland, and Miranda Robinson; nephews, Jake Hutchinson and Gage Hutchinson; in-laws, Jackie and Beverly Balch; and sisters-in-law, Shanna Allen, and Shelli Smith (Rob), along with their families.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Interim Home Health and Hospice for their professional care and concern, Derek Rebber, Joshua Duren, and to the many friends and community members for your prayers, providing meals, and participating in the benefit events that were held. 11. Stephanie,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to get to know Michael and you over the past year. I will always cherish the memories of the times when Michael brought joy and laughter into my life with his wonderful stories. Every single time I interacted with him, his humor and warmth never failed to bring a smile to my face. I hope that you and your family can find solace and reassurance in knowing that Michael’s spirit will live on forever in our hearts. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. If there is anything additional I can do to support you during this time, please let me know.

  12. To Kyle & Morgan, I’ve known your dad since I was 16 years old. I spent so many Friday & Saturday nights with him and your mom at Linden Hall, Elk & West Fraternal dancing to Cherokee Rose. I was always their third wheel and he never seemed to mind. I was a bridesmaid in their wedding and thought the world of him. It didn’t matter where I saw your dad, I knew there would be a huge hug waiting for me. He was a great man and such a sweetheart. I will definitely miss him and his hugs. I was blessed to know him ❤️
