Nannie Frances Zant

Frances Gilliam Zant, 105, of Gholson, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 with her family at her side.

Frances was born, Nannie Frances Gilliam, on October 06, 1910 in Ballinger, Texas to the late Clarence Earl and Fannie Jo Allen Gilliam. She graduated in 1929 from Runnels High School. Over the years, Frances worked as a 4H Seamstress teacher, a farm census taker, she did seamstress work for the public and during WWII she worked for Montgomery Wards. In the early 1950’s, Frances was a Cub Scout leader for her sons scout troop. Frances has been a member of First United Methodist Church in Big Spring, TX since 1924 and is also a member of the Howard County Home Demonstration Club. Frances is preceded in death by h her parents, Earl and Fannie Gilliam; sisters, Vera Mae Rawlings and Ruth Allen Robinson; and nephew, Larry Ray Robinson.

Frances will be remembered in love by her son, Gene Zant and his wife Sheba Ann of Waco; grandson, Allen Gene Zant and his wife Stephanie of Sunset; granddaughter, Melodie Ann Holder and her husband Jason of Laguna Park; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
