O.B. Neyland, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2018, at his home in China Spring, Texas. OB was a former mechanic and manual laborer. He loved working with horses and always stood ready to help his family and friends.
Service Information: Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 2:00 at Lake Shore Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. Services will be held at 3:00 with Pastor Stephen Daywitt officiating. Burial will follow immediately at China Spring Cemetery. The McLennan County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
OB was born February 22, 1933, in Ireland, Texas, to the late James Smiley Neyland and Mary Arnold Neyland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Rose Marie Williams and Bill Neyland. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Raye Lary Neyland of China Spring; sons, Donald Wayne Neyland and wife, Melissa of Daisetta, and James Randall Neyland and wife, Cheryl of China Spring; three grandchildren, Rebekah Rardin, Candy Martin, and TJ Neyland; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Bella Rardin; step-siblings, Mackie, Frances, and Deanna, and his special furry companion, Sugar Baby.
OB had many friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
