Dr. Ploeger was a wonderful teacher and principal, but above all, a wonderful person. She was full of joy and compassion, many teachers, parents and students were influenced by this fantastic woman. You could always tell people who knew her, because the mention of her name brought on a smile or chuckle from a memory of her sense of humor. I was blessed to have taught under her.
    I’m missing her already.

  2. Dr. Ploeger effected so many kids – me included. What I remember most was her fairness to everyone. She encouraged every student she came across. Will be praying for her family. FP Caillet ’80.

  3. Dr. Ploeger was such an inspiration to many. My three older brothers and I all attended FP Caillet… will never forget the 6th grade skate party with the sailor hats.

Dr. Ploger was a gift to our family not only as an educator, but also as a friend to my mother. I shall always remember her starting off each morning at Caillet with announcements that always ended with "Today is the first day of the rest of your life". Dr. Ploger, you have now started on your new life. God blessed all of us who knew you.

  5. A fond farewell to our principal at Caillet Elementary, may she rest in peace.

  6. Bless Miss Ouida, she was a great neighbor and I will miss her always walking the dogs by.

  7. I remember Dr. Ploeger being a tough woman, carrying her lil paddle around in school waiting for someone to cross the line. She also had kind spirit. She also had a way of reading books to the class in such a dramatic way. She will truly be missed. My prayers goes out to the family. .. f p caillet class year 80-82

  8. I am so sad to hear of Ouida’s passing. She was a wonderful neighbor for many years and fed my cat when I wasn’t home. She was beloved by the entire neighborhood. She loved her dogs, and I imagine all of them welcoming her in heaven. She will be greatly missed.

  9. May you find comfort in the memories that are yours to cherish always, and strength in the companionship of those who share your loss…. I have learned never to underestimate the healing power we all have. It is always there to be used for the highest good. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4) May it be a source of inner strength to know that there’s a loving God watching over you, and that, throughout this time of need, He’ll stay close by your side. I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith.-2Timothy 4:7. As for me, I will lie down that I may sleep; I shall certainly awake, for Jehovah himself keeps supporting me. -Psalms 3:5

Dr. Ploeger was a significant influence on my life at a very early age, and I am extremely grateful to her for her role in who I am becoming. I am sorry to hear that she’s gone – mostly because that means more young people will be going through life having never met her!

Dr. Ploeger was a wonderful principal and educator. I will never forget how she would come to our class and read "Winnie the Pooh" with such emotion, using many different character voices. As my children were growing up and I read bedtime stories them, I always wondered if I was doing as good a job as Dr. Ploeger.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

The best friend a student could have. I’ll never forget how well she would read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". God Speed Dr. Ploeger. You are one of my few heroes.

Dr. Ploeger was a great principal and I am sad to hear of her passing. She kept our school safe and in order during big changes. She was tough, firm but always fair. I will always remember her as my elementary principal. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Ms. Ploeger was the principal of Caillet while I was doing my student teaching there in the fall of 1976. I most remember her sense of fun, and the nose warmer she wore on those cold mornings of bus duty. She set the tone for a wonderful school experience, for the students as well as the staff.
