Growing up in China Spring, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve my community through Lake Shore Funeral Home. After completing my bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Baylor University, I taught for many years in the Waco and China Spring school districts. There was nothing like teaching at my former school amongst some of my most favored teachers. Through the years, I had always an interest in the emotional well-being of my students and so I went on to receive my Master’s Degree in Education and counseling from Tarleton State University. I enjoyed teaching several years in the psychology department at McLennan Community College, another school I had once attended. I, additionally, spent many years counseling others, and felt especially blessed to be able to help after the unfortunate fertilizer plant explosion in West.
When Brent and I decided to open our funeral home, it was clear that it had to be where we could serve those who had meant so much to both of us growing up. I care greatly about my community and work to insure the service provided by Lake Shore Funeral Home is caring and compassionate, and that Christian values are exemplified by our staff. I look forward to helping others as they memorialize and celebrate lives lived and find their way again in a world that has changed.
