I grew up in Upstate New York and attended college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. After completing the Reserve Officer Training Corps at RPI, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force and assigned to Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. That was my introduction to Texas and, except for a two-and-a-half-year assignment to Ohio, I have been in Texas ever since.
I met my wife, Ruth, in San Antonio and we recently celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary. We have five wonderful children and ten grandchildren.
After service in the Air Force, I worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at hospitals in Dallas and Houston. In 2018 I retired from the VA, and we moved to Waco to be close to our family.
I’m amazed at the opportunities I’ve had to serve the Lord in the hospital environment and now I have the privilege of continuing to serve and minister to people through my work at Lake Shore Funeral Home. The staff is truly caring and goes out of their way to meet families’ needs in difficult times.
